Location & Map - Agia Marina Chania Crete

Agia Marina is located 9 kilometers west of the town of Chania. The area is famous for its long sandy beaches, the exceptional facilities and the opportunities that rise for sporting activities.

Being a tourist resort with great development and intense night life, Agia Marina has many hotels, taverns and restaurants with great food, bars, coffee shops and various other stores.

Besides the sandy beach of Agia Marina, you can also swim at the smaller beaches of the nearby settlements of Kato Stalos and Platania.

The places of interest in the area include the small church of Agia Marina, from which the village was named after, and 1.5 kilometers to the South, is Nerospilia; a very interesting cave with stalactites and stalagmites which during the Minoan years was used as a place of worship.

Also, the surrounding area can easily and readily be explored using the intercommunity trains.

Chania, with the famous old town and the Venetian harbor, is located only a few kilometers from Agia Marina. There is a bus stop for the local intercity buses located a few meters from the hotel with a very frequent service. The lovely Venetian mansions which dominate the neighborhoods of the town, the paved alleys which invite you to follow them, the famous Venetian harbor where the Venetian lighthouse is located, the Kioutsiouk Hasan Pasa mosque and the Great Arsenali are all impressive attractions.
